Dear Community,

First allow us to thank those of you who either attended one of the prayer meetings or passed along your prayers for the board and the community in e-mail.  They are a source of strength and comfort to us as we journey down this winding path.  At the last prayer meeting the discernment was that we have not yet done all we should when faced with this kind of decision, and therefore we must go one step further.

The weekend of September 11th we will be having a 72 hour prayer vigil, very similar to what we would have during an actual weekend.  We ask that if you are available that you please sign up for a time slot and email it to either Karen Wambaugh or Kristy Somsel.  You may pray from anywhere, but please pray specifically for our Emmaus community and the path God wants us to take.

We ask that you write down any discernment, encouragement, or specific prayers that you have for the community and for the board and email it to Karen Wambaugh or Kristy Somsel no later than September 18thPlease put “Emmaus Prayer Vigil” in the subject line so it gets recognized by our junk mail boxes.

Based upon the response we receive from the Holy Spirit, and from you, the community, the board will be making a decision at the next board meeting in October as to the future of our community. The community, as always, is welcome to attend this meeting at St. Paul’s in Kentwood, Michigan – it is October 7th at 7:30 PM.

Blessings,
