Fellowship begins at 6:00

Community Gatherings
To the Grand Rapids Area Emmaus Community:

I am your gatherings coordinator. I have several ideas about gatherings and are always open to any input from the community about new ideas or changes we could make it improve gatherings. After all, we are here to serve the needs of the community as a whole.

One of the things have been doing is having the Gatherings at different churches each month. To do this, we need the cooperation of several 4th Day groups who would be willing to host a Gathering at their church. This involves confirming the availability of the church to hold the Gathering and ensuring that the church is unlocked. We will make sure all the music, entertainment, Pastor, and communion elements are taken care of.

The Gatherings are held on the second Saturday of each month except the months we have walks...that month gathering will not take place because of the Walks and candlelight.

Bring a dish to pass for the potluck which begins at 6:30pm. Please feel free to bring your family even if they have not taken a Walk. We look forward to seeing you all there. If you would like to join in only our worship and fellowship times, we plan on starting those parts of our Gathering around 7 - 7:15. We will have our normal worship time with communion followed with fellowship activities.

We hope you are looking forward to reuniting with your friends, former table-mates, leaders, and even brothers-and-sisters-in-Christ you haven't met yet!

If you are musical and would like to share a song or two with us or lead us in singing a song or two, please bring any instruments and song sheets you might need and we will enjoy the gifts God has given you and worship/praise together!

We have also started offering sponsorship training after each gathering with a question/answer session with the community lay director. These sessions have been very helpful and informative.

If your church is interested in hosting an Emmaus Gathering, please contact us, as we are going to try and have the Gathering sites listed in our Emmaus Newsletter.
